Don't Drop The Ball When You Juggle Events! How To Get Better Organized

A very hectic life is common with moms, but when you are also an event planner, you may be in a lot of trouble more often than you would like. Juggling events for your job plus juggling events for your kids means that eventually you may drop a proverbial ball or two. If you do that with your kids, you run the risk of losing their trust and dependency upon you. If you do it with your clients, you are out of a job and not likely to get hired again. Instead, you can use different tools to get organized better and stay on top of things.

A Scheduling Phone App

Scheduling apps for your smartphone are pretty common. It is just a matter of selecting one you like, and then consistently using it. It will take a little time and practice, but you may find that it is a real lifesaver when you are planning a couple of events for clients around major events and appointments for your kids. Some smart phones have a built-in scheduling app, but it is very basic and often limits the number of appointments you can fill in in a given day. Apps with more advanced features are available through your app store.

A Date Book

Sure, you have a great scheduling app, but what happens when your phone dies right in the middle of scheduling something with a client? You need to write it down so that the client sees that you put it down somewhere and knows that you are taking this seriously. A date book helps. A date book also allows you to take notes and write down things you cannot put down in your scheduling app. Then you can enter the date for an event into your phone after you have recharged it.

Event Reminders

Smartphones also have appointment and event reminders. Be sure to turn on this feature, and you will get a buzzing or alarm sound every time you have an event coming up. You can even customize the alarm so that it alerts you two days, one day, one, two, or three hours in advance and more. Then you can consistently be on time and ready for your clients as well as for your kids. When things are not running so smoothly, you can look at your schedule and see what you can shift around and still manage to accomplish with your day.
